Shaun Suisham Named Pro Bowl Alternate

Despite his Pittsburgh Steelers being eliminated from the NFL playoffs, Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham might have the opportunity to play one more game this season after being named a Pro Bowl alternate.

This is the first time in his career Shaun Suisham has been considered for a Pro Bowl position.

Suisham is a second alternate, meaning two kickers would need to be injured or otherwise unavailable for the Pro Bowl in order for him to suit up in the annual all-star game.

Through 15 games this season, Suisham, who’s in his 8th NFL season, has hit 90% of his field goal attempts this season going 27-for-30. He is a perfect 31-for-31 in point after attempts.

I am so glad that Shaun Suisham is being recognized for the excellent season that he has had. Giving credit where credit is due, Phil Dawson of the Cleveland Browns was a worthy choice for starter at the kicker position for the AFC, but Shaun’s numbers were very solid and he is rightfully recognized. Congrats to this fine athlete who continues to make Wallaceburg proud!
