Reports: Fantuz Suffers Possibly Career Ending Torn ACL
Chatham’s Andy Fantuz was having a career year, but that all came to an end Friday as the Hamilton Tiger Cats receiver suffered a reported town ACL.
Hamilton Spectator reporter Drew Edwards, and other sources, are saying that Fantuz’ injury is a serious one, and that he’ll undergo an MRI this week to examine the extent of the damage to his knee.
Fantuz had made a career high 101 catches this season, good for 1059 yards, the second most in his career, and most in 7 seasons.
Turning 33 in December, sources are already speculating about the possible career ending nature of Fantuz’ injury.
His contract with Hamilton expires after this season.
Should the diagnosis indicate an ACL tear, his recovery time could be as much as a year.
