After two wins, Chatham’s last remaining hockey hope is looking to close out an unbelievable run to an OMHA Championship.

Saturday in Grimsby, the Major Novice AA Maroons won the first game of their OMHA Championship series 4-1 against the Grimsby Peach Kings Major Novice team. Goal scorers for Chatham were Cal Polowick, Craig Spence, Brendan Mairs, and Matt Gaudrault with assists going to Quinn Erickson, Luke Havens, Ben Brooks, Polowick, and Mairs.

Jessie McPherson took the win in goal for Chatham.

Sunday night again in Grimsby, the Major Novice Maroons shut out the Peach Kings 3-0. Brendan Mairs again scored for the Major Novice Chatham Maroons, while Dakota VanGoethem and Adrian Stubberfield added singles. Mat Gaudrault had two assists in the game while Ryan Burke, Stuberfield, Colin Kloostra, and Mairs also had helpers. Adrian Luckyk had the shutout for Chatham. 

Saturday night (March 19), the Major Novice Chatham Maroons host the Grimsby Peach Kings at Thames Campus. If the team wins, they will capture an Ontario title at home. Coaches and parents are hoping to fill Thames Campus with a loud and supportive crowd to cheer the young Maroons on as they aim to win an OMHA Championship. Puck drop is at 7:05pm.
