Gracie Barra Chatham has awarded its first two blue belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to Justin Steele and Rob Alderton. Not only are these the first two belts in Gracie Barra Chatham’s club history, but they are the first belts earned and awarded in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Chatham-Kent.

 As well, local Thomas Armstrong was awarded purple belt after 6 years of training which makes Armstrong the highest ranked Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner in Chatham-Kent.

 The belts were awarded this weekend at Gracie Barra in Chatham by Bruno Fernandes of Gracie Barra Montreal. Fernandes is the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach of famous UFC fighter Georges St. Pierre.
