Andy Fantuz Survives First Cuts, Many More to Come
Andy Fantuz has survived the Chicago Bears’ first wave of cuts which were required by the NFL to get down to the mandatory 80 player roster by Tuesday.
The team however, is required to cut 27 additional players before Saturday, and many analysts are suggesting Fantuz will be among the 27 players released in this larger wave.
In 3 preseason games, Andy Fantuz has only been thrown to once and has seen extremely limited field time. The lone time Fantuz was a target, the former Most Outstanding Canadian in the CFL made a 6-yard reception.
Earlier this week it was reported that Andy Fantuz no longer appeared on the Chicago Bears’ depth chart.
The Chicago Bears cut 5 players Monday including Vernon Gholston, Tank Tyler, Tanner Antle, J.C. Brignone, and Trevor Vittatoe.
Chicago will play Cleveland Thursday, two days before the NFL mandated cuts.
