In a game that could have equalized the Great Lakes Junior C North Division standings, the Blenheim Blades grabbed a 4-point lead over the Wallaceburg Lakers in the standings defeating the Lakers 2-1 on the road Wednesday.

Thomas Innes opened the scoring for the Blenheim Blades from Taylor Phillips only 6-seconds into the game.

In the second period, Jordan Regier scored the game winning goal for the Blades assisted by Phillips and Innes.

Wallaceburg’s late comeback fell one goal short as Dustin Cope scored for the Lakers in the third period to make the score 2-1, however Blenheim goaltender Dylan Vanderpol shut the door. Wallaceburg outshot Blenheim 19-6 in the third period, but could not crack Vanderpol for the tying goal.

The win evens the Blenheim Blades with the Dresden Kings in the standings, while dropping Wallaceburg to the basement of the North Division.
