Tartans Shoot Down Golden Hawks in Junior Football

After stumbling out of the gate, the defending champion Wallaceburg District Secondary School Tartans bounced back in style in their second game of the KCSSAA Junior Football regular season, defeating the CKSS Golden Hawks 21-7.

Mark Kellett scored on a touchdown run for the Wallaceburg Tartans, while Brendan Johnston returned a fumble recovery for another WDSS touchdown.

Brandon Church led the CKSS offense with 15 Carries for 50 yards, while Chance Beaumont made 2 catches for 70 yards, including a 4th quarter 65 touchdown reception from quarterback Jake Lindley.

Josh Paul had 4 tackles for the Golden Hawks defense, with Kody Baker and Teirric Crosby each collecting 3 tackles in the loss.

The win for Wallaceburg moves them to 1-1 in the season, while CKSS, who was winless last year, has opened the season 0-2 for the second straight season.
