The NHL Draft is rapidly approaching, which means a few more tense days of waiting for Thamesville’s Dane Fox. Fox, who was the 48th ranked North American skater heading into the draft, and who participated in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game in February, will likely be selected at some point on the second day of the draft.

After being traded from the London Knights to the Erie Otters, Fox played a prominent role in the young team’s offense, however, with the Otters failing to make the playoffs, Fox missed the added exposure he would have seen with the London Knights.

Fox was the leading scorer for the Erie Otters this season collecting 22 goals and 27 assists for the Otters in 56 games.

Fox was traded mid-season for former Erie Otters captain Greg McKegg who joined the London Knights and also made an instant impact with his new team.

Following the draft, Fox will likely attend an NHL rookie camp before returning to the Erie Otters next season.
