Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham kicked off, where he left off, last season, going 2-for-2 in his 2013 NFL preseason debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With 4:12 remaining in the opening quarter against the New York Giants, Suisham kicked a 34-yard field goal to tie the game 3-3.

After a Giants touchdown late in the first quarter, Suisham closed the gap, making the score 10-6 in the second quarter, hitting a 41-yard field goal, a distance he’s traditionally struggled with during his NFL career.

Suisham is entering his 9th NFL season, spending time with Dallas, Washington and Pittsburgh. He has been Pittsburgh’s starting kicker since 2010 when he took over midseason, and has played in all 16 games for the Steelers each of the last two years. In 2010, Suisham and the Pittsburgh Steelers lost the Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers.

Pittsburgh will face Washington, Kansas City, and Carolina to complete their preseason schedule, before facing Tennessee Sunday, September 8 to start their NFL regular season.
