Wallaceburg Lakers Announce Front Office Changes
Following an 0-13 start, the Wallaceburg Lakers have announced changes to their front office.
The Lakers have fired general manager Jim McCrea, and announced the hiring of Brian Griffith as their new general manager.
Griffith, the father of Wallaceburg hockey star Seth Griffith, has been involved in Minor Hockey in Wallaceburg and ‘AAA’ hockey in Chatham over the past decades.
This is the second time in less than a calendar year the Wallaceburg Lakers have fired and hired a general manager. McCrea replaced the previously fired Paul Grealis last January, after serving as the team’s assistant general manager.
After watching several veteran players including Sam Jasmin, Bobby Domin, Brennan Rainey, and Jeff Nolfo walk to other teams in the offseason, and had Joe Allison and Trevor Williams graduate as overagers, the Lakers failed to replace this portion of their roster with proven Junior players.
In their 13 losses this season, Wallaceburg has been outscored 25-96. The team has allowed double digit goals against three times this season, and has been beat by five goals or more six times.
Wallaceburg hosts the Belle River Canadiens Wednesday, and travel to Belle River Friday.
