Below are Jeremy Wintjes’ answers to CKSN’s Five Questions:
1. What is your career sports highlight/top memory?
Completing my first marathon. I had goosebumps coming up to the finish line with all the people cheering. I almost forgot about how tired I was!
2. Who is your favourite professional sports team and athlete?
The Detroit Red Wings, and Steve Yzerman was always my favorite athlete as a kid when I was playing travel hockey. Now I enjoy watching Lionel Messi.
3. If you could achieve one thing/goal in sports, what would it be?
I’d love to run in a Boston Marathon. I have never had the opportunity, unfortunately. You’ll see me there someday soon though.
4. Who has been your biggest sports influence and why?
My parents have definitely been my biggest influence. They have always supported and encouraged me. I can’t forget about my dad’s pregame lectures on the way to the field/rink, Thanks Dad!
5. What do you love most about playing/participating in sports?
I love being part of a team and the friends I’ve made on the teams I’ve competed on. I’ve made so many great friends playing soccer and running.
