Maroons To Appeal OHA Decision
Following the OHA’s decision to hand down a variety of sanctions and penalties to the Chatham Maroons for an illegal use of import cards, the GOJHL’s Chatham Maroons announced this week they will appeal the OHA’s decision.
The Maroons forwarded a press release to media Thursday:
“The Chatham Maroons have been notified by the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) of sanctions related to the signing of import players.
The Maroons intend to use their rights as members of the OHA to appeal the sanctions.
Until the appeal avenue has been completed, the Chatham Maroons will have no further comment on this matter.”
Chatham is currently third in the GOJHL’s Western Conference. They travel to London this Wednesday to face the Nationals before hosting the St. Marys Lincolns a week from Sunday.
