Blades Give Mooretown Life
After taking the first three games of the Great Lakes Junior C playoffs against the Mooretown Flags, the Blenheim Blades have allowed their opponents to claw back into the best of seven series, losing the next two games.
Thursday night the Blades fell 2-1 to Mooretown, setting up a game six in Mooretown Saturday at 7:30pm, and a possible game seven this Sunday in Blenheim at 7:15pm.
Former Wallaceburg Laker Sam Jasmin set up both Mooretown goals Thursday, which were scored by Ryan Lyle and Sam McCormack.
Justin Rossignol, who has led the Blades in scoring early this playoff season, scored Blenheim’s lone goal in the second period, with assists going to Tyler Boughner and Kirk McKillop.
The Blades did outshoot Mooretown, peppering the Flags net with 45 shots, while Blades netminder Adam Leboeuf turned away 32 of the 34 shots he faced.
