Maroons Up Two, Home Sunday

Chatham-Maroons-Jersey-NewThe Chatham Maroons are bringing a 2-0 lead back to Memorial Arena in Chatham Sunday after defeating the Strathroy Rockets 4-3 Saturday on the road.

Chatham’s big guns got the job done again scoring early and often for the Maroons. Adam Arseneault, with assists coming from Kyle Brothers and Michael Verboom, scored the opener for the Maroons. Brothers picked up his second point of the period, assisting on a Tanner Ferguson goal that gave the Maroons a 2-0 lead after one period.

In the second, Arseneault again found the back of the net with Ferguson, and former OHLer John Bowen assisting on the play.

Strathroy would storm back in the second and early in the third to tie the game at 3-3, but two familiar faces secured the win for Chatham.

Kyle Brothers, on a pass from Adam Arseneault, potted his third point of the game, and the game winning goal at 3:44 of the third period to lift the Maroons to the win.

Chatham will host the Strathroy Rockets for game three of their series Sunday at 7pm. The box office will open for tickets at 4pm.
