Former Laker Domin Commits To UMD
Former Wallaceburg Lakers defenseman Bobby Domin has committed to play University hockey for the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines are a Division 1 American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) hockey program.
Domin played this season with the Seguin Huskies of the Greater Metro Hockey League, a Tier II Junior A league located in the Greater Toronto area.
“I am very happy for both of these players,” said Huskies head coach and general manager Gary Astalos about Domin, and teammate Cody Staub who also committed to UMD. “Bobby is a true leader. He was a top defenseman for our club that a lot of guys look up to. Power play, penalty kill, even strength; he does it all,” continued Astalos on the team website.
In 35 regular season games this season with the Huskies, Domin had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points.
Prior to playing for Seguin, the St. Clair Township native, Domin was the top scoring defenseman for the Wallaceburg Lakers in 2012-2013 collecting 19 points in 37 games.
