Shepley Prospect For Upcoming NLL Draft

Wallaceburg’s Joel Shepley will be one of many prospects considered for the upcoming National Lacrosse League (NLL) draft.

The 1993 born lacrosse player recently finished his final year of Junior, making him instantly eligible for the NLL draft, which will take place September 22 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, in Oakville, Ontario.

Shepley had 5 assists for the Six Nations Arrows in 23 regular season and playoff games this season, before exploding in the Canadian championship Minto Cup, scoring 3 goals and adding 3 assists in 4 games to help the Arrows to the title.

Shepley also served as the Wallaceburg Junior B Red Devils captain this season, and was the OLA Junior B defensive player of the year last season.

Wallaceburg Red Devils grad Dan Charlton is also listed as a prospect.

Wallaceburg has a history at the NLL draft, with a handful of selections, and Red Devils alumni moving on to the pro ranks. Currently, Sean Pollock and Tye Belanger, two Wallaceburg alumni are playing in the National Lacrosse League. Other notable Wallaceburg lacrosse alumni include long time NLL players Brad McArthur and Kevin Dostie.
