The best 16 and 17-year-old hockey players from the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League were too much for their neighbouring counterparts Thursday night in Lakeshore.

At the prospects game, which showcases the youngest Junior ‘C’ hockey players, it was the GLJCHL side blanking the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League prospects, 4-0.

In front of a sparse crowd in Lakeshore, Dresden Kings’ forward Ross Krieger scored what would be the only tally required to win this one. Still in the first period, his Kings’ teammate, big Derek Shaw was left all alone on the blueline and he fired home a hard snap shot.

Brock Daughtery of the Wallaceburg Lakers had a goal and an assist while Ted McGeen of the Blenheim Blades added the other goal. Brendan Ritchie of the Lakers chipped in with a pair of assists.

Sharing the shutout for the GLJCHL team were Essex’s Noah Hedrick and Colin Lauzon along with John Jefferies of the Lakeshore Canadiens.
