Brendan Van Herk (15) won first place in each of his five events at the second SEAL Meet of the year which was hosted by the Chatham YMCA Pool Sharks. Participating teams were the Aylmer Optimist Arrows, the Windsor Aquatic Team, the Pool Sharks and Van Herk’s Blenheim Blast.

Brendan swept first place in the 200m I.M. (2:21.54), 100m Fly (1:05.14), 100m Back (1:04.49), 100m Breast (1:17.64) and 100m Free (58.53) mixed open division events. Rain Pfaff) 15 followed closely placing second in the 100m Free (1:05.10) and 100m Breast (46.49). Rain also placed third in the 200 I.M. (2:38.83), 100m Fly (1:15.40) and 100m Back (1:11.53). Team mate Shania Van Herk (17) placed fourth in the 200m I.M. (2:49.91), 100m Back (1:12.95) and 100m Free (1:05.93). She also placed fifth in the 100m Fly (1:16.15).

Grace Hansen (13) also dominated, winning the 12-13 year old girls’ 100m I.M. in a time of 1:17.58. Competing up an age division , Grace also won the 14 & over 50m Fly (34.67), 100m Breast (1:28.24) and 100m Free )1:08.07) events. Grace also placed eighth in the mixed open 100m Back (1:18.85). Abigael Johnston (12) also had two top ten finishes, placing sixth in the 12-13 year girls 100m Breast (1:42.25) and ninth in the 100m I.M. (1:31.30).

16 year old Olivia Ermers placed third in the 14 & over girls 100m Back in a time of 1:31.14. Olivia was fifth in the 100m I.M., sixth in both the 50m Fly and 100m Breast, and seventh in the 100m Free.

11 year old Emma Pegg was second in the 10-11 year old 50m Breast in a time e of 46.49. Emma placed third in both the 50m Fly (41.99) and 50m Back (43.87), fifth in the 100m I.M. (1:32.15) and eighth in the 100m Free (1:25.17). Holly Reynolds had five top ten finishes in this age group, placing fifth in the 50m Back, sixth 50m Breast, seventh in the 100m Free, eighth in the 50m Fly and ninth in the 100m I.M. Talia-Roe Farrow placed fifth in the 50m Breast in a time of 50.00.

10 year old Gracin Black had three top ten finishes, placing third in the 10-11 year old 100m Free in a time of 1:27.44. Gracin placed fourth in the 50m Fly (47.21) and fifth in the 100m I.M. (1:40.09).

9 year old Linnnea Mattsson had five top ten finishes in the 8-9 year old girls division, placing second in both the 25m Fly (21.49) and 25m Breast (23.99). Linnea was also third in both the 100m I.M. (1:53.18) and 50m Free (43.84) events. She also placed ninth in the 25m Back. Cora Holt (9) was ninth in the 25m Fly (23.82)

9 year old Mathew Anglin had two top ten finishes, placing seventh in the boys 8-9 25m Back and eighth in the 50m Free. Team mate Derek Schieman was eighth in the 25m Back, and ninth in the 50m Free. 8 year old Lilly Jones had one top ten finish in the girls 8-9 year old 25m Breast.

7 year old Zadie Sunnen had four top ten finishes in the 7 & under age group, placing fifth in both the 25m Fly (32.78) and 25m Free (28.25) , She was also seventh in the 25m Back and eighth in the 25m Breast.

A group of swimmers will travel to the Canada Games Aquatic Center in London November 21-23 to compete at the Nothers Fall Invitational. The next SEAL meet will be December 7 at the Sherk Centre in Leamington.
