Golden Hawk Gridiron All-Stars Win

Two of Chatham Kent Secondary School’s senior football players participated in the Annual Current Stars (Grade 12, 12+) All Canadian Gridiron All-star Game in Anacaster, Ontario at Redeemer College on Saturday, January 24.

Carter Wood (LB/RB) and Randy Cartier (LB/DE) played for the Golden Horseshoe All-Star squad which defeated the Greater Toronto All-stars 54-52 in a come from behind victory.

Carter Wood was given the honour of being selected Defensive Captain and did not disappoint. Wood led the defense with 13 tackles and a QB sack. Carter was also selected as the Defensive MVP of the game.

Randy Cartier chipped in with 5 tackles from the middle linebacker position. Both players were stand-outs for the Golden Hawks and both are eager to make the big step to the CIS.
