Organizers are preparing for the third annual Soccer Dogs 3 on 3 tournament in memory of Tyson Santavy, with an aim of continuing the tournament’s growth.

“Last year we raised $6,413.00,” says organizer Rhys Dulisch, who launched the tournament in 2013 in memory of his friend Tyson.

“I would like to grow it to just get the community more involved, as well as help families in Chatham-Kent realize what a great place Ronald McDonald House in London is,” he continued. “According to their statistics in 2013-2014, only 10% of families that had sick children at London Children’s hospital have actually used the house.”

With a goal of 30 teams, and a dozen already registered, the event, which is held in Blenheim, Ontario, is scheduled to run on May 30.

After making $1442 in 2013, and $6413 in 2014, Dulisch and the rest of the Soccer Dogs 3 on 3 tournament organizers are hoping to again sponsor a room, and provide support for the Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario with this year’s tournament.

The tournament is open to ages 7 to adult, costing $210/team if you register before April 20, and after that the price is $240 with 6 players. Each additional player is $35.00. Deadline for registering is May 1. Interested teams can register online through our website www.soccerdogs3on3.webs.com with all proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House.

The tournament is also looking for business sponsors, with more information found at www.soccerdogs3on3.webs.com/sponsorship or by contacting Greg or Leah at 519-676-1113.
