Blast Make A Splash At Home Meet
The Blenheim Blast hosted the Leamington Lasers and Windsor Essex Swim Team for the last regular S.E.A.L. Meet of the year at the Gable Rees Rotary Pool last weekend.
15 year old Brendan Van Herk dominated the mixed open division, winning the 100m I.M. (1:01.74), 100m Back (1:02.17), 100m Breast (1:12/05) and 100m Free (56.70) events. River Pfaff (18) was second in the 100 I.M. (1:05.46), 100m Breast (1:13.74) and 100m Free (1:00.20). River won the 50m mixed Fly in a time of 28.62. Shania Van Herk (18) was second in the 50 Fly , finishing in a time of 32.19. Shania was third in both the 100m Back (1:14.47) and 100m Free (1:05.98). Shania also placed fifth in the 100m Breast. 16 year old Rain Pfaff placed second in the 100m Back (1:11.43) and was third in each of the 100 I.M. (1:11.69), 100m Breast (1:22.38) and 50m Fly (32.37) events.
Delainey Johnson (14) won the 14 & over girls 100m Back (1:21.78) and 100m Free (1:12.71) events. Delainey also finished third in both the 50m Fly (37.74) and 100m I.M. (1:24.64). Grace Hansen (14) won the 100 I.M. in a time of 1:15. 48. Grace was fourth in the mixed open 100m Back (1:17.45) and 50m Fly (34.63) events. Oliva Ermers (17) was third in the 14 & over 100m Back (1:30.49), fourth in the 100m Breast (1:41.16) and fifth in both the 100m Free (1:24.74) and 50m Fly (44.69).
9 year old Linnea Mattsson won the 25 m Breast in the 8-9 girls’ age division in a time of 24.77. Linnea was second in the 25m fly (21.27) and was third in both the 100 I.M. (1:45.19) and 25m Back (23.10). Brielle Farrow (9) was third in both the 25m Fly (21.61) and 50m Free (44.01) events, and was sixth place in both the 25m Back (24.80) and 25m Breast (30.78). Lilly Jones (9) placed second in the 25m Breast in a time of 25.62.
Emma Pegg (11) won the 10-11 year old girls 50m Back in a time of 40.13 and was second in both the 50m Fly (41.73) and 100m Free (1:18.66). Emma also placed third in the 50m Breast (47.46), finishing behind teammate Talia-Rae Farrow (11) who won the Breast in 47.18. Talia-Rae was also fourth in the 50m Back, and placed fifth in both the 50m Fly and 100m Free events. 11 year old Georgia Blackshaw had four top ten results, placing fifth in the 100 I.M., seventh in the 50m Back, and ninth in both the 50m Fly and Breast. Hannah Dorssers also had four top ten results, [lacing fourth in the 50m Fly, fifth in the 100m Back, eighth in the 100m Free and tenth in the 100m Breast. 10 year old Cora Holt was fifth in the 50m Back, ninth in the 100m Free and tenth in the 50m Fly. 11 year old Abha Pradhan was eighth in the 50m Back, and Rylee Stanford was tenth in the 50m Breast. Emily Malott also had a top ten performance, finishing ninth in the 50m Back.
11 year old Gracin Black was second in the boys 10-11 year old 50m Back (44.37) and 100m I.M. (1:30.48). Gracin also placed third in the 50m Fly (44.96) and was seventh in the 100m Free. Aidyn Harris was sixth in both the 50m Back and Breast events, and finished ninth in the 100m Free.
Abigael Johnston (12) had four top ten finishes at the meet, placing third in the 12-13 year old girls 100m Breast (1:41.55). She also placed fifth in the 50m Fly, sixth in the 100m Back and seventh in the 100m Free. Morgan Anderson (13) was ninth in the 100m Breast and tenth in the 50m Fly. Holly Reynolds (12) was fourth in the 100m Breast, fifth in the 100m Back, sixth in the 100m Free and seventh in the 50m Fly. Rebecca Warwick (12) had one top ten finish, placing seventh in the 100m Breast.
13 year old Zakeri Dorssers had four swims with performances in the top ten , placing fourth in the 12-13 boys 50m Fly, fifth in the 100, Back, eighth in the 100m Free and tenth in the 100m Breast. 9 year old Mathew Anglin was fifth in the 25m Back and tenth in the 50m Free.
7 year old Zadie Sunnen was third in the 7 & under 25 m Back in at time of 29.75. She was also fourth in both the 25m Fly and Free, and placed fifth in the 25m Breast. Team mate Sadie Black (6) placed fourth in both the 25m Breast and Back, seventh in the 25m Fly and eighth in the 25n Free. Amiera Black had a personal best time in her 50m Free, shaving almost 5 seconds off her previous best to complete the race in 1:16.08.
