CKSS Repeats As LKSSAA South Junior Champs

CKSS-Golden-Hawks-logoThe CKSS Golden Hawks dominated the LKSSAA South Junior badminton tournament for the second straight season Thursday at the St. Clair HealthPlex in Chatham.

CKSS finished the day with 52 points, followed by ESPC with 36 and UCC with 27.

Chatham-Kent Secondary School’s Jordan DeHaw beat teammate Grant Spence in the boys singles final.

Carson Lewis and Brooke MacKinnon ousted UCC’s Jacob Wanger and Grace Hiltz in the mixed doubles final.

Emma Demers of UCC beat CKSS’ Tess Scaman for the girls singles crown.

In girls doubles, Chatham Christian’s team won the title, edging CKSS’ Jade Barko and Shayna Daly.

Finally, ESPC’s Nick Paraskavapolous and Remi Myers defeated teammates Cody Henderson and Joseph Zarebski in the boys doubles finals.

The top 6 from each division will advance to face the top 6 from the LKSSAA North tournament next week in Sarnia for the LKSSAA championships.
