Chatham’s Bridget Carleton and Ashley Jackson both took home multiple honours from the JUEL Basketball championship weekend in Kingston, Ontario.

The duo, who play for the London Ramblers, alongside Wallaceburg’s Alyssa Lucier, helped their Ramblers team to a provincial silver medal, falling 72-62 to the Tri-County Thunder in the gold medal game.

Carleton and Jackson however were also recipients of individual honours from the league.

Carleton, who was playing in her final game in Ontario before heading to Iowa State University, where she is committed to play NCAA Division I basketball next season, was a league First Team All-Star, and also named to the league’s All-Defensive Team.

This coming after the six-foot-one guard led the league in scoring with 28.4 points per game, rebounds with 11.1, and blocks with 2.1.

Jackson was honoured for the second straight season as a member of the Molten All-Academic Team, after she received a similar honour last season playing in the JUEL Prep Division. The John McGregor Secondary School student also received the Dunbar Medical Community Service Award.

Jackson and Carleton helped the JMSS Panthers to a LKSSAA basketball title this season, advancing to OFSAA.
