Chatham-Kent April Athlete of the Month Voting

VoteBelow are CKSN’s nominees for the April 2015 Chatham-Kent Athlete of the Month.

Voting will continue until Friday, May 8, with the winner being named Saturday May 9. Poll votes, comments below, as well as Facebook comments (www.facebook.com/cksportsnetwork) and Twitter Retweets (www.twitter.com/cksportsnetwork) will be counted as votes. Below are the April nominees:

Delainey Johnson – Chatham – A multisport athlete, Johnson set a pair of track and field records in April at the Lancer Prep Meet at the University of Windsor. Johnson won, and set records in the 1500m and 3000m, The same weekend, she won the overall 14U title at the SEAL Swim Championships in Windsor.

Brendan Harrogate – Chatham – Continuing their run toward a Sutherland Cup, the LaSalle Vipers Junior B hockey team relied heavily on Harrogate in April. Harrogate played 12 Sutherland Cup games in April scoring 8 goals and 4 assists in that time.

TJ Brodie – Dresden – The NHL defenseman played crucial top four minutes for the Calgary Flames in their final regular season games, and through their first playoff series, where the Flames eliminated the Vancouver Canucks. In 7 playoff games in April, Brodie added a goal and three assists.

Chad Laprise – Chatham – Laprise remained undefeated in his professional fighting career, beating Bryan Barberena in UFC 186 this month by a unanimous decision 29-28, 29-28, 30-27.

Sarah Woods – Chatham – Representing Team Ontario at the National Ringette Championships in Alberta, Woods backstopped Ontario to a silver medal. She was named the U16AA Top Goalie in Canada and First Line Team Canada All Star at the tournament.
