In recent years, Crawford McKinlay has been the Ridgetown golfer racking up wins on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour, and more recently in the NCAA.

Monday however, it was his younger brother Carson McKinlay who took a tournament title, his first career win, on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour.

Playing at Pointe West Golf Club, Carson McKinlay shot a one over par 73, edging Thomas DeMarco and Michael Nunes by a lone stroke to take the championship.

Another local golfer, Chatham’s Brooke MacKinnon had a fine day of her own, finishing second with a 78, only 5 shots back from winner Melanie Burgess, who recently accepted a golf scholarship t Northwestern Ohio University.

In the Collegiate Men’s Division, Michigan Wolverine Bryce Evon continued his winning ways with a 2 under par 70, edging Essex’s Tyler Pope-Ferguson by 3.

Finally, Sara Holland who plays for the University of Western Ontario prevailed in the Collegiate women’s division with an 80.
