Chatham’s Jake Reed will be coming closer to home this season after a season away, as he has signed with the GOJHL’s St. Thomas Stars.

Reed spent last season playing Junior B for the EOJHL’s Perth Blue Wings, where he was named the team’s top defenseman.

He also saw 6 games of Junior A action with Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL.

The 1997 born defenseman is a product of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ organization, and also spent a season with the Windsor Jr. Spitfires during his Major Midget campaign.

In 30 Junior games last season split between Perth and Carleton Place, Reed had a goal and two assists.

The St. Thomas Stars begin their season this weekend in London at the GOJHL Showcase Saturday against the Waterloo Siskins, and Sunday against Fort Erie. All Showcase games are at Western Fair in London.
