The Chatham Skating Club sent 4 of its qualifying skaters to the 2017 Skate Ontario Provincial Championships at the Vale Center in Port Colborne, this past weekend, March 17-19.

These select skaters advanced from the Western Ontario Starskate Championship qualifier in February.

The Skate Ontario Provincial Championships saw qualifying skaters from Ontario’s 4 sections. Skaters in attendance came from all over Ontario and as far as Fort William, Thunder Bay and Timmims to vie for a spot on the podium.

Juvenile Dance Pair, Alyssa Robinson and Joshua Andari defended their 2016 Gold championship status and once again claimed the Gold Medal at their combined event, after they achieved the top spot at each of the pattern dances; the Ten Fox and the European Waltz, and again in their Free Dance.

Stallaert competed in the Ladies Gold Triathlon combined event of Creative Skills, where she was 3rd place, Interpretive where she placed 5th and FreeSkate where she achieved 2nd, giving her an overall 2nd place finish.

Another 2 Silver Medals were brought back by Zachary Stallaert as he landed on the podium at both of his events, Star 7 Men’s Short Program and Star 8 Men’s Free Skate.

Andari also competed singles, at the Juvenile Men under 14 event, where he landed in 5th place.
