PJHL Playoff Match Ups Set
The Dresden Kings will face the Wheatley Sharks, while the Blenheim Blades will take on the first place Lakeshore Canadians when the PJHL Stobbs Division playoffs begin this week.
Blenheim had an opportunity Saturday night to climb into 7th place to face Dresden, but fell 7-1 to the Mooretown Flags in their season closer to remain in the 8th and final playoff spot.
After a stronger start to their season, the Blenheim Blades faltered throughout the second half, and closed the season with a dismal 1-9 record in January and February.
They’ll come up against a Lakeshore Canadians team which finished first with a 27-8-2-3 record, and with home ice advantage in the series, were dominant at home with a 17-1-1-1 record at home.
Lakeshore won the season series against Dresden 3-2.
The Dresden Kings, who finished 2nd overall, only a point behind Lakeshore, will face the Wheatley Sharks, who were 7th. The two teams had 29 points separating them in the standings.
Dresden won the season series 4-1, including a 4-2 victory on February 2.
The other matchups include Essex (3) against Petrolia (6), and Amherstburg (4) against Mooretown (5).
