Former Chatham hockey player Brendan Mairs was named player of the game for Team Alliance at the OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener yesterday.

Team Alliance dropped a 5-4 decision to Team OMHA Black.

Mairs, who played this season for the London Jr. Knights, and was a 7th round OHL Draft pick of the London Knights, scored a second period goal for Team Alliance.

Chatham-Kent Cyclones captain Spencer Lecot assisted on the goal.

This season, Mairs collected 44 points, including 20 goals for the Minor Midget Knights this season in 33 games before adding 15 points in 12 playoff games.

He is an alumni of both the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and Chatham Minor Hockey.
