The first of the South Western Ontario Rugby Union 2019 Women’s Festivals was held this weekend at Stratford Blackswans RFC.

First the U17/19 Kent Havoc girls played a 7s match. With both Stratford and Kent Havoc lending players into blended teams. It was a fast paced game, with good tackling from both sides and some impressive long runs to score. Tries scored by Brooke Heyink, Selena Bushey, Justiana Mulder and Alexis Jenkins, conversion from Brooke Heyink. Final Score was 32-15 for Havoc.

the Senior Women played a game of 15s as well.

In the first half Havoc women defended well, scored two tries and started to work the rust off. This is the first senior womens match for Havoc since 2014. In the second half the Blackswans outmatched Havoc on fitness and quickly took the lead. Lots of moments of great play – tackles improved throughout the game, still some work to be done. Tries scored by: Selena Bushey, Athena Charbonneau and Alexis Jenkins. Conversion by Brooke Fox.

Maid of the Match went to Summer Eastcott for some awesome runs out on the wing with some amazing offloads and intensity at the breakdown. Final Score 37-17 to Stratford.
