Maroons Name Griffin Robinson Captain
“We are thrilled to announce Griffin Robinson as the next captain of the Chatham Maroons. I have know Griff for over 5 years now since I coached him in Midget AAA. Watching him develop as a player and as a young man over that time I couldn’t be more proud of him,” said head coach Kyle Makaric of the announcement.
Acquired in a trade last season from the Leamington Flyers, Robinson collected 60 points, including 27 goals in 50 games.
“He is an elite player on the ice but also a mature leader and very well respected by his teammates and peers around the league. He leads by example with his compete in games and is always at the rink early for practice. He is a guy that our young players will go to for advice and his junior hockey experience will help him ease into his new role,” added Makaric.
The 2017-2018 GOJHL All-Star, and Harrow, Ontario product is entering his final GOJHL season, after scoring 149 points in a 151 regular season games, and 34 points in 35 playoff games over three seasons.
