Sluys, Bultje Win Redeemer Athletic Awards

Two Chatham-Kent volleyball players, Abby Sluys and Erica Bultje were named winners as Redeemer College recognized their top student-athletes.

Abby Sluys of Thamesville, an outside hitter for the Redeemer Royals women’s volleyball team was named the Redeemer Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. Sluys led her team in points per game, finishing tied for 2nd in the OCAA at 3.9.

Sluys was also named an OCAA 2nd Team All-Star and was named given an OCAA All-Academic Award and was named an Academic All-Canadian.

Bultje of Chatham, was named the women’s volleyball rookie of the year.

Both are alumni of Chatham Christian High School.
