Cheryl Mitchell Wins Inaugural Ontario Indigenous Golf Championship

Cheryl Mitchell (nee Tooshkenig) of Walpole Island First Nation won the women’s division at the first ever Ontario Indigenous Golf Championship.
Playing at MontHill Golf & Country Club, part of Six Nations, Mitchell shot two identical 4-over 76’s to secure the victory. Mitchell played NCAA golf at Kent State and Oakland University, and also won the 2003 Golf Ontario Women’s Amateur Championship.
Also taking home a title at the tournament was Delaware Nation’s Savana Smith, who won the Junior girls’ title.
