Wildcats win gold at Ontario Cup

The Chatham-Kent Wildcats U12 Major Atom boys won gold in the Ontario Cup Division 12 held this past weekend in the Niagara Region.

The Wildcats beat a tough Durham Blues team 37-33 in the final to win the gold medal.

The Wildcats went a perfect 3-0 in pool play, beating DC Storm 46-31, HOF Hustle 47-37 and Thornhill Thunder 57-39. As the only team with a perfect record, the Wildcats were able to advance directly to the final and sleep in on Sunday.

The U12 Wildcats had their first go at OBL and came out with a 10-2 record, achieving a much higher seed in the Ontario Cup from last year, and really shined on and off the court with their teamwork.
