Thamesville’s Dane Fox continue to add to his accolades this season. An OHL Player of the Month, signed by the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks, and now the Erie Otters single season goal scoring record holder.

Fox leads the Ontario Hockey League with 54 goals, and now holds the Erie Otters single season goal scoring record with his 54th goal, which he scored Thursday in a 3-0 win over the Saginaw Spirit.

Fox passed former Otter Cory Pecker’s 53 goals he scored in the 2001-02 season.

When asked by OHL Radio host Terry Doyle about his scoring exploits and expectations this season, Fox said even he didn’t expect to score at the pace he has.

“I would have told you you were probably crazy. I knew I had a little bit of potential to put up some goals,” said Fox.

Doyle then asked Fox about his recent contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

“It took a lot of pressure off my shoulders, but now I have to prove to them it was the right decision.”

For has roughly one month left in the OHL season to pad his own stats, and keep the Erie Otters in the hunt for first overall in the Ontario Hockey League.
