Bridget Carleton Makes Connecticut Sun Roster
Carleton, a graduate of Iowa State, is one of two rookies to make the Connecticut roster, and will be the youngest player on the Sun this season.
The Big 12 Player of the Year and Cheryl Miller Award winner, was drafted by the Sun in the second round, 21st overall this year.
Carleton will also play professionally following the WNBA season with Australia’s JCU Townsville Fire, who she signed with in early May. She is a member of Canada’s National Women’s team.
To get down to the final roster, Connecticut had to waive Natisha Hiedeman, the 18th overall pick of the Minnesota Lynx in this year’s WNBA draft. Heideman was the Big East Player of the Year.
The Connecticut Sun will open their 2019 WNBA season against the Washington Mystics on May 25 at 7:30pm at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Congratulations Bridget – well deserved. Good luck this season.
