Dresden's TJ Brodie named an AHL All-Star
Dresden, ON – After being sent down by the Calgary Flames to the AHL, TJ Brodie has managed to put together a very successful season thus far. Brodie, originally from Dresden was named to the American Hockey League’s Western Conference All-Star team.
The All-Star Classic will be held January 30th and 31st in Hershey, PA. Brodie, who sits third on the Abbotsford Heat in scoring with 1 goal and 14 assists, is his team’s only representative at the annual All-Star Classic.
With the Calgary Flames sturggling mightily in the NHL, it is likely Brodie has not seen his last NHL games this season. In an interview for NHL.com, Abbotsford Heat head coach Jim Playfair had this to say about Brodie’s trip to the AHL All-Star game,
“TJ’s certainly earned the right to be there. I think that it’s good for TJ and hopefully he can get to the all-star game and recognize how other good professionals prepare and how they handle themselves.”
