Two Wallaceburg Lacrosse players drafted to OLA
Wallaceburg, ON – Two former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse players were recently selected in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Entry draft. Jordan Durston, a member of the Wallacburg Red Devils, and currently the Wallaceburg Lakers, was selected in the second round, 22nd overall, of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Jr. A draft by Six Nations.
Along with Durston, who currently lives and plays in Wallaceburg, another former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse star, Zach Herreweyers was selected 5th overall in the two round draft by Peterborough.
As members of the Wallaceburg Griffins Minor Lacrosse team, the duo won multiple provincial championships.
Although these players are a sure sign that the Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse Association is on the right track, the organization is still in need of help. February 19, the WMLA will be holding a fundraising gala which will feature a dinner, guest speaker, and auction with outstanding prizes. Tickets to the event, which begins at 5:30pm, are $50 each and can be purchased by contacting Todd Noel at 519-381-7846.
