Basketball Wallaceburg Major Midget Airhawks Win Gold
Basketball Wallaceburg experienced another success this past weekend as the Major Midget Basketball Wallaceburg Airhawks brought home gold in Downtown Toronto at the Toronto Lords Tournament. On the way to the final the Airhawks defeated London, Toronto, Oakville and Niagara Falls to win the tournament.
This is the 2nd Toronto area tournament the Wallaceburg Airhawks have won this year, this time the tournament was downtown with the final game being played at George Brown College.
Lakeisha Cato was the final game MVP
Won against London Gold Medal
Won against the Toronto Lords (Tournament Hosts)
Lost to the Niagara Rangers
Won against the Oakville Venom
and Beat the Niagara Rangers in the Gold Medal game.
Final game at 1:45 Sunday at George Brown College – airhawks 52 – niagara rangers 45 Emily Pepper, Mariah Tanner, Lakiesha Cato each with 8 points.
Semi-final – airhawks 45 – Oakville Venom 31. Emily Pepper 11pts. Mariah Tanner 8pts.
