Brett Hope of Blenheim Scores 4 goals as Stars Down Rockets
Blenheim’s Brett Hope did what the entire Chatham Maroons team couldn’t do this month, he put away the Strathroy Rockets in Greater Ontario Junior B Hocekey.After eliminating the Chatham Maroons, Strathroy advanced to face the St. Thomas Stars, Hope’s team. In game one last night in Strathroy, St. Thomas dismantled the regular season champions shutting them out 6-0 on the heels of Hope’s 4-goal performance.
Hope now has 9-points in 5 playoff games to lead his team. Hope suited up for the Chatham Maroons the last three seasons and represented the team at the 2010 GOJHL Prosprects game. Prior to that Brett Hope played in the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ system. While with the Cyclones Hope was selected by the Sault Saint Marie Greyhounds in the 15th round of the Ontario Hockey League Priority Draft.
Game two of this series continues tomorrow (March 17) in St. Thomas.
