Cunningham has Six Point Week with Greenville Road Warriors
Third-year pro Wes Cunningham of Dresden picked up six points this past week as his Greenville Road Warriors won three of four games in ECHL play. Wes, who plays defense, started the week, picking up an assist in a 4-2 win over South Carolina on Feb. 20. Two nights later, Wes had a goal and two assists as the Road Warriors routed Gwinnett, 7-1. He finished his scoring production on Feb. 25 with a goal and assist in a 4-3 loss to Cincinnati. He was held scoreless the next night as Greenville shut out Toledo, 3-0. In 54 games this year, Wes has five goals and 21 assists….
Chatham’s Ryan Jones picked up an assist on Feb. 24 as the Edmonton Oilers beat Colorado, 5-1 win…
Wallaceburg’s Jamie Vanderveeken had an assist as his Arizona Sundogs lost 4-3 to Odessa on Feb. 25…In the college ranks, Chatham’s Tyler Roeszler had a goal as Cornell dropped a 3-2 overtime game to Brown on Feb. 25. Cornell also lost the next night, 4-1, to Yale, but wound up with a fourth place bye in the ECAC tournament, which begins next weekend…
Chatham’s Hokey Langan wasn’t as lucky as her Ohio State Buckeyes dropped a pair of weekend games to the University of Minnesota, 4-2 and 3-2 and ended their season. Hokey picked up an assist in the 4-2 loss….
Thamesville’s Dane Fox picked up three assists last week as his London Knights won games over Windsor on Feb. 21 and Saginaw on Feb. 24 and lost 7-2 to Plymouth on Feb. 25….
And, finally, congratulations are in order to Jamie Schaafsma of Blenheim and his HC Gherdeina team in Italy. They won the quarter-round of their Series A2 series with Real Torino and now open a best-of-seven semi-final series with Milano. Jamie had 18 goals and 28 assists during his team’s regular season.
