Chatham Maroons Major Novice team to help Outreach for Hunger as they play for the OMHA title - Chatham-Kent Sports News

Chatham Maroons Major Novice team at Aurora Tournament

Chatham, ON – The goals are clear: pack the house, win an OMHA Championship, and help Outreach for Hunger. It seems like a lot to put on the shoulders of a young Major Novice team from Chatham, but that’s exactly what the ‘AA’ Maroons aim to do this Saturday night in Chatham.

With puck drop at 7:05pm at Thames Campus, the Chatham Maroons Major Novice team will take on the Grimsby Peach Kings in game 3 of their OMHA Championship series. Admission to the game is free, but the team is asking fans to bring non-perishable food items to help support Outreach for Hunger which burnt down last week.  Outreach for Hunger is a local foodbank which supports families in need across Chatham-Kent.

The devastating fire is said to have cause $2 million in damage; however the loss of Outreach for Hunger may prove to be even more costly to the Chatham-Kent community. That is why the Major Novice Maroons have decided to support this worthwhile cause.

Chatham leads this series 2-0 after beating Grimsby 4-1 and 3-0 last weekend in Grimsby. The team is hoping to pack Thames Campus Arena to show support for the Major Novice Chatham Maroons as they aim to win an OMHA Championship and support the local Outreach for Hunger.
