Mapletoft Named Wilfrid Laurier Male Athlete of the Week

Wallaceburg, ON – After falling in the CIS Curling Championships, Wallaceburg’s Matt Mapletoft has been named the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks Male Athlete of the Week.

Mapletoft was named to a second team All-Canadian after having a 77 shooting percentage at the skip position playing with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.

Last week, Matt Mapletoft participated in the CIS Curling Championships, finishing with a 2-5 record, while failing to advance past the round robin portion of the tournament. Mapletoft however impressed as one of the most accurate shooters in the championship tournament.

Mapletoft who is in his 4th year studying political sciences at Wilfrid Laurier was also named a First Team OUA All-Star this season.
