Bantam Wildcats Win Gold at Division 5 Provincials

The Chatham-Kent Wildcats bantam girls team came home from their weekend Ontario Basketball Championships as Division 5 provincial gold medalists. The Bantam Chatham-Kent Wildcats travelled to Windsor where the team went undefeated in pool play with wins over Blessed Sacrament, Linday Wilcats and Dundas Dynamos.
The semi-final had Chatham-Kent matched against Niagara Selects. With Chatham trailing for much of the game the girls got the game into OT and were able to pull away at the end winning 40-36.
In the gold medal game Chatham faced Sarnia Valhalla. Chatham-Kent trailed most of the game, down by as many as 7 at one point, but the girls never gave up and pulled out a thrilling 36-35 win and a gold medal.
