Novice Wallaceburg Griffins Start Season With Big Win at Home
Wallaceburg, ON – Wallaceburg’s 2011 minor lacrosse season got underway Monday and Tuesday in Wallaceburg. The Wallaceburg Novice Griffins 1 Team started with a big win over the Sarnia Pacers 11-3.
Riley Roe and Tanner Cole powered their team each scoring three goals in the win. Single goals were scored by Hunter Santsche, Seth Ewing, Tyler Davis, Reece DeWagner, and Cole MacKinnon.
After winning an OMHA championship with the Chatham Major Novice Maroons last month, goaltender Aiden Lucyk showed his skills extend beyond the ice, as he picked up the team’s first win of the season in net. Malcolm Vandevenne also played well in goal for the Wallaceburg Griffins splitting the game with Lucyk.
Cole MacKinnon added 3 assists in the game, while Lucas Jacobs had 2 assists for the Griffins.
The next game for the Wallaceburg Novice 1 Griffins is Tuesday May 3rd against London in Wallaceburg.
