South Buxton Raceway Holding Downtown Chatham Mall Show This Week
South Buxton Raceway is holding their annual Mall Show at the Downtown Chatham Centre from April 7 to April 9. On display will be cars from each regular class (Modifieds, Sport Stocks, Comp 4s, and late models) and a sprint car from the Northern Summer Nationals. This season will mark South Buxton Raceway’s 40th anniversary.
Opening night for the 2011 South Buxton Raceway season is May 7. Races are held every Saturday night from May 7th through September 24th, weather permitting.
The highlight of the season will be the Northern Summer Nationals sprint car series, being held in conjunction with Ohsweken Speedway.
The four-race series includes sprints from the Patriots Sprint Tour, ASCS Sprints On Dirt, Southern Ontario Sprints and Ohsweken’s Cor-Pak series.
The Northern Summer Nationals take place over two weekends –Friday, June 24 at Ohsweken and Saturday, June 25 at South Buxton; plus Friday, August 19 at Ohsweken and Saturday, August 20 at South Buxton.
The 40th anniversary special night will be held on July 30 with the return of the Ontario Dirt Late Model series.
Other major events include the Mid-Season Championship Night is July 9, Championship Night on Sept. 10 and the Shootout on Sept. 24.
South Buxton is also hosting a Southwestern Ontario Tractor Pullers Association tractor pull on Friday, Aug. 5.
