Chatham Skating Club Takes Home the Hardware

Chatham Skating Club - Figure SkatingThe Chatham Skating Club competed this past weekend, May 14-15, in the Spring Fling Invitational Competition, at the brand new Brant Sports Complex, in Paris, Ontario.

Seven medals were brought home by the 11 skaters who competed.

In the Competitive stream, 4 skaters took to the ice.

At her first try at Junior Ladies, Katrina deLiberato placed 5th in the Long Freeskate event.

While during the Novice Ladies events, Paige Newman took home the Silver Medal in the Long Freeskate, and placed 5th in the Short program.

Ashley Glassco, who competed in Pre-Novice Ladies, took to the podium twice as she received the Gold Medal in the Long Freeskate, also obtaining her personal best score of 42.5. She received the Bronze Medal in the Short program

During the Juvenile Ladies event, Olivia Stallaert landed on the podium with her Bronze Medal, as she competed at this level for the first time.

In the StarSkate events, the remaining 7 skaters put their blades to the ice.

In Starskate Preliminary Men, Zachary Stallaert was centre podium with his Gold Medal and also trying his axel for the first time in competition.

While at Starskate Preliminary Ladies, Hannah Ross, who also tried her axel for the first time in competition, received the Bronze Medal.

During the Starskate Pre-Preliminary Ladies event, Brooke MacLeod received the Bronze Medal and Amanda Couture placed 4th, as they skated in their
respective flights.

In Starskate Junior Bronze Ladies, Rebecca Fehr placed 4th and Jacqueline Sereda placed 5th in their own flights.

Ryley Goodhand placed 5th in the Starskate Junior Silver Ladies event.
