Kent Havoc Men Open Season With Convincing Win
The Kent Havoc Senior Men’s Rugby team started their season off on a winning note defeating the Hamilton Hornets 39-12 in Chatham. The Havoc scored 6 tries, and added 3 conversions and a penalty kick in the game.
With a strong defensive game, the Kent Havoc held the Hornets to only 2 tries and 1 conversion in the game. The Hornets travelled to Chatham-Kent with an experienced squad, however, the Kent Havoc used their speed to break through the Hamilton defenders.
Leading the way for the Kent Havoc was Matt Waddick who scored 3 tries in the match. Matt Sutherland, Brad Bettencourt, and Adam Girardin also scored tries for the Kent Havoc, while Craig Arnel and Jarod Clogg kicked the 3 conversions, with Arnel hitting a penalty kick for the Havoc.
The Kent Havoc next take to the field Saturday May 28 on the road against Highland RFC Seconds, based in Fergus, Ontario.

Men’s Club Captain invites anyone interested in knowing more about the KENT HAVOC and rugby to join us a the old CCI Football Field on Lansdowne Ave. Chatham, on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 6:30 pm. A great group to play sports with and socialize after a game. Men 18 and over encouraged to come and check it out.
