Three Chatham-Kent Cougars To Represent Ontario West at National Championships
The three Chatham-Kent Cougars selected were Jordan Deneau (DL), Clark Green (K), and Connor Martin (LB).
Ontario Football Alliance Executive Director Tina Turner had this to say about the two teams,
“We have two very competitive teams this year. It was a difficult process for the coaching staffs to narrow it down to 40 players per team. We are excited about the level of talent that these teams possess. I think we have a great shot at both teams bringing home a medal.”
The teams, including Team Ontario West which features the three Chatham-Kent Cougars players will participate in the 2011 Football Canada Cup, which is the only National Championship football tournament in Canada. The tournament features the best under 18 football players in Canada and will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta from July 9 to July 16.
To help cover their costs of travel, the three Chatham-Kent all-stars are seeking sponsorship opportunities. Those wishing to sponsor the players can contact admin@ontariofootballalliance.ca for more details. Sponsorship opportunities including advertisements in the Team Ontario program, with every dollar from the sponsorship going directly to the chosen player.
