Wallaceburg Griffins Shoot Down Sun County Crows

Starting the weekend off, the Wallaceburg Griffins Tyke 1 team shot down the Sun County Crows 11-4 and 19-1 in a double header Saturday morning. With the wins, the Tyke 1 Wallaceburg Griffins improved to 7-0 on the season.

In the two game series, Hunter Shepley scored 7, Liam Johnston 6, Mason Myers 5, Taylor Mader 4, Kanton Verstraeten 3 and Shayne Logan 2 goals total in the wins. Brady Bustin earned both wins in goal for Wallaceburg.

Similar to the Tykes, Wallaceburg’s Novice 1 Team took no prisoners in Sun County downing the Sun County Crows 22-1 and 17-3 in their own double header. Scoring for the Wallaceburg Griffins on the weekend were Seth Ewing (7 goals), Hunter Santsche (4 goals), Riley Parker (3 goals), Evan Dumais (5 goals), Reece DeWagner (4 goals), Lucas Jacobs (1 goal), Riley Roe (5 goals), Cole MacKinnon (3 goal), Tyler Davis (3 goals), and Tanner Cole (5 goals).

The Novice 2 team split the weekend against Sun County losing 2-1, before rebounding to win 9-3. In the 2-1 loss, Hunter Mader scored the only Wallaceburg goal. In game 2, a 9-3 Wallaceburg win, the first victory of the season for the Novice 2 team, Anthony Acchione scored twice, with other goals going to Mader, Connor Roebuck, and Landon Allaer.

Several other Wallaceburg Griffins teams played in Sun County on the weekend, however scores were not immediately available.
